Antoni Starowieyski

Antoni Starowieyski (born in 1973 in Warsaw) studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1992 to 1997. He trained, among others, in the studio of Jarosław Modzelewski and graduated from the studio of Professor Stefan Gierowski. Since 1997, he has been an assistant, and since 2007, an adjunct at his alma mater. His artistic practice focuses on painting and drawing.

In 1999, he received the Editor-in-Chief Award of the artistic magazine "Format" at the Geppert Competition in Wrocław at the National Exhibition of Young Painting. In 2005, he was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2010, he was nominated for the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award for Art by the Mazovian Voivodeship Self-Government for his solo exhibition at Galeria aTAK. In 2011, he was nominated for the TVP Kultura "Gwarancje Kultury" Award in the "Visual Arts" category for his solo exhibition at Szydlowski Gallery.
